As a non-profit volunteer group that seeks funds to support our libraries, the foundation applied for and was awarded a $2,500 grant from the Kinder Morgan Foundation in July 2016. The money was used to provide the new AWE Early Literacy Computer at the Crosswicks Library.
Our advocacy and financial commitment creates opportunities and provides access. More specifically, as a newly established organization, our immediate goals are to build on this vision by supporting capital improvement, improving exposure to new and emerging technologies, and expanding literacy and learning.
Our libraries provide a range of print and electronic materials, community gathering places, engaging programs, and services along with availability to technology and applications. A 24/7 virtual library provides anywhere access to a materials catalog, ebook portal, online learning tutorials, and research resources. Collectively, this translates to over 2 million checkouts, downloads, and access points.
